About Erin

Erin Schrimpf, Principal of Schrimpf Strategies, brings over a decade of political, government and corporate communications experience to Jefferson City. A Jefferson City native, and Helias graduate, Erin began her career serving as a public affairs aide to Mayor Sly James in Kansas City, Missouri from 2011 to 2014. Following her tenure with the City of Kansas City, Erin completed her masters in public policy at Georgetown University's McCourt School, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the school’s academic public policy journal, the Georgetown Public Policy Review. Following graduation, Schrimpf was selected to be a Presidential Management Fellow — the federal government’s prestigious, two-year leadership development program. As a PMF at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, she served in multiple roles, including as a Speechwriter for the agency’s highest officials and in an extended detail assignment in the Minority staff office of the U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs for then Ranking Member, Senator Jon Tester.

Returning to Missouri during campaign season in 2018, Erin joined Tightline Public Affairs where she served as spokesperson and communications director on the statewide ballot campaigns for the right-to-work repeal and medical marijuana. In 2020, Erin pivoted to the corporate sector where she joined Cerner Corporation as an executive communications manager supporting Cerner’s C-suite executives on strategic communications.

Erin and her husband Blake made the decision to move back to central Missouri where they grew up to raise their three young children, Tate, Baker, and Ryan, and bought a small farm a few minutes outside of Wardsville where they now reside with the kids, two hunting dogs, and a growing list of farm animals.
